I certainly won't be converting all of these 5 PCs to Vista, but I might consider trying Vista on the main PC instead of WinXP.

Basically, they will coexist happily with some jiggery pokery except for Outlook where you must only install Outlook 2007. It's good to know about "happy coexistence" of Vista/Office 2003. As far as Outlook is concerned, I never install it anyway: I'm quite happy with Outlook Express for Mail/Newsgroups.
